Former TWC OCM Charlie Welsh (deceased) gives us a look back at the 1993 hurricane season - a relatively quiet hurricane season in the Atlantic Basin with only 8 named storms. However, Hurricane Emily that was a category 3 packed quite a punch when it just missed the outer banks of North Carolina. Emily did claim 3 lives in the U.S. There were other storms that made landfall in other countries that claimed lives.
