1962-model, sad to see it gone, but they've already started dismantling it, as I saw in every major NYC news paper the other morning.

UPDATE(2/20/09) Shea Stadium had the last section of it demolished last Wednesday, so the former stadium, and this elevator are demolished, so thank the lord I got this elevator before it was too late. Here's a link to the article on mets.com:

  • OTIS Gen2 and ThyssenKrpp Escalators, sorry Patrick that I didn't reply to your comment, I forgot. Also, The new Yankee Stadium will also have Gen2's, but I think they're going to have OTIS escalators, which aren't bad, but thank god Citi Field will have ThyssenKrupp Escalators, since none have ever been recorded on YouTube, and since they're cool, and look futuristic! :D

  • Cool, The Beatles were once there. Sad to see it gone.

  • yes, I know, I just forgot about that comment, or didn't know about it. I hope those OTIS Gen2's don't have operators, becasue I know how to use an elevator, I don't need them to do it for me lol! :D

  • They're gonna have Gen2 and Thyssenkrupp escalators.

  • Yes, it is, but I had season tickets 8 rows back from the field, and right above the visitors doughout!!! At Citi Field, I will have season tickets 9 rows back, and one section over. so, it is a bit sad to see such good seats go.

  • Shea was a dump back in the 80's, it has gone through a lot of neglect. It's coming time for it to go. Yankee Stadium was a much worse hit, as it is a piece of history. Shea is kinda a piece of something else.... Yes, I am a Yankee fan. :P
