Landing at Stanwell can be a bit tricky without a bit of local knowledge to help set up your approach.

  • Thanks for this video. Really well done and perfect text explanations.

  • @anterokan

Glad you liked it, if you fly with us at Stanwell I hope it helps you have an easy landing.

  • Great work Rob ! Nice to see your looking out for other pilots...I have watched so many of your videos now I feel as though I know that approach like the back of my hand and I have not even had a flight there yet.

  • Thanks Markandjackif :)

A lot of inland pilots try to do an inland approach from the back of the park, which can work in perfect light SE conditions but if it is a bit stronger with more S or E in the wind the back of the park turns into a rotor factory. :(

  • Far better than my aproaches. Wish I'd had this video back in 82. Hell, I wish I'd watched this before I came back for a visit a couple of years ago. I ended up doing s turns between the shed and the kiosk. Thanks for showing us the right way.

  • Hi gasdive,

That is my main reason for doing the video, keeping visiting pilots safe and Stanwell a fun place to fly.
