While on vacation in California I was posed a question of living in a green community. I also would like to start a meet up for brainstorming a better community.

  • What about obtaining public land through the land act or the rural development, um... I researched this the other day, you can get land rights for mineral searching and stuff. I was trying to find loop holes, you can get horses, you can get large subs and light houses. Just - I have no clue how to "make it happen" BUT they could be a resource for the community... What state?

  • I have looked into that and the homesteading laws which are still active. I'm working with a couple of people and once we have some of the details lined out then we will have a meeting with anyone who would like to attend.

  • I am interrested. I was set up with another organization but right before we moved, they shut down and totally left us hanging! Very frusterating as we had to go through a ton of screenings to get in. Anyway, I think it is a great idea.

  • Was it a scam or did they lose funding?

  • That is a great idea. Find some land and go in on a subdivision type thing but out of the cities each person on 1 acre. Or something like that....... I'm down...... Hey stop by and check out my show k

  • I think we can almost step into one of those subdivisions that are partially done and turn it green....

  • I lived in an rv for a year with my family...We use to stay in Oceanside sometimes...We would love to figure out a way to get out of this rat race again and get off of the grid.

  • I have been investigating this for many years but I have not been able to find a for real community where EVERYONE puts forth the sweat and toil. I even descussed this in depth with a like minded friend but when it can down to the details he wanted the office job. I want everyone to be of equal standing and to sweat the same amount. If I dig holes everyone digs holes. If get greasey fixing the equipment everyone has to get greasey. Go idea though !

  • sounds great man. if you actually get this following through..people WILL come. like me, lol id seriously consider it.

  • I have just started looking into joining a commune. I'm a nice fun guy, 25 years old and willing to do whatever it takes to make something like this happen or to join an already developed one in warm weather climate. Please contact me if anyone has info they can provide

  • Seriously, I think the "leader" lost her way, and with it so secretive, no one could pick it back up and so seriously there could be people all over kinda stranded. I will email you.
