FMRoyal is the epitome of the achievements of the Royal College Radio Club. Since its inception, FMRoyal has enjoyed 13 successive broadcasts, with some of them rising to special prominence, such as in 1995 when FMRoyal became the Official Radio Station for the South Asian Games, and in 2000 when FMRoyal provided LIVE coverage of the Bradby Shield Encounter. In addition to this, FMRoyal has pioneered several successful technologies in Sri Lanka as part of its broadcast, such as the FMRoyal Web cast, which launched in 2005, was Sri Lanka's first 24 hour Internet mirror of a FM Broadcast, and the FMRoyal Pod cast, which in 2006 became the first service of its nature in Sri Lanka. In last year ,the Royal College Radio Club brought forth FMRoyal in more improved manner than ever since before, with the help of modern day digital technology, and with the field of computer networking,RCRC could able to venture forth in to a new generation of Radio Broadcasting, Our concept for FMRoyal 2007 included the integration of technologies on computer based radio station automation along with the expansion of our coverage to the city of Kandy.
We are not going to freeze ourselves with only two RF transmissions, since other schools not thinking about even two transmissions, the RCRC going to expand their courage to the City of Galle, which would end up in three terrestrial RF transmissions in total.
And for the first time by a school in Sri Lanka FMRoyal announce there new innovation with Selective Casting over the 3 terrestrial RF transmission and over the web. This simultaneous feeds will allow the internet listeners to have there choice over the programs and the RF listeners will have a proper program according to the area that they live.
Thank you sir!
