UK singer sung this song originally back in 1993. I'm not gonna compare her original to Tamia's remake. I like them both. Both songs were too long to make it a Song Battle

Tamia is great, but Mica has a richer, earthier, quality to her voice that makes this Mica Material.

I do love Tamia's rendition, too, though.

  • I'm sorry she sounds beautiful but Tamia went deeper and pulled something out that Mica did not do. I believe she could have but didn't. I always believe the org is better but not in this case. Sorry. HELL NO

  • Nice! Found out this was the original from the page with Tamia's version. I love a good singer so go Mica. Now I'll look her up and learn more about her career.

  • @Skibone21 No it's not shouting, it's call singing with REAL feeling and emotions. Patti and Aretha are soulful RnB Power Vocalists who come from an era when

singing was singing which is why I appreciate Mica's version of this song more, whereas Whitney, Tamia, etc are Commercial RnB/Pop Vocalists though I love them too, but they are not in same league as those Veterans. Nothing anyone can, could, or will say that will make me believe otherwise. With that, I now file this case as closed.

  • @blkplaya9891 The difference that sets Tamia Whitney Tarja Leann Rimes etc from Patti and Aretha is that they don't need to shout to get to the desired pitch. Patti and Aretha tend to shout their songs. I like to be sung to. Not shouted at.

  • @Skibone21 Listen, I like Tamia and understand that her range is higher than Mica's, but that does not make her version of THIS song better. As I stated it was more poppier/commercial N it's presentation, no wavering on that. We will definitely agree 2 disagree. That's some powerful stuff U smoking if U in ANY way think Tamia is superior to Patti Labelle or Aretha on any aspect of singing. They will sing her under the table. My attribute of what makes up a good voice, it's simple.... LISTENING.

  • @blkplaya9891 It makes THEIR voices. There are actually plenty of better singers than them and they're not soul singers. I'd love to hear the attributes you think make up a good voice. I have my own set of what makes a good SINGING voice. Tamia can do so many more things with her voice than Mica and it's evident. Same as Tamia's - Make Tonight Beautiful is smoother than Patti's and same with Tamia's - Daydreamin doin the same over Aretha. She can just do more. It's simple.

  • @Skibone21 And soul doesn't make the voice? Tell that to Patti, Areatha, Gladys Knight, etc. They may beg to differ quite a bit.

  • @headbull2008 Tamia just gave it more pop/commerical appeal. That's the difference.

  • Well it's ok compared to Tamia's version. The problem is you can't teach what Tamia has. Which is a big voice. Soul doesn't make a voice. I find Tamia's voice sexier also. Also it seems like Micha kinda shouted this song.
