The Plant: My Beer Feeds Your Fish!

A remarkable food production plant is being assembled in a former meat processing facility in Chicago. It's remarkable because the waste from one type of food becomes the raw material for another. So "The Plant" will be producing Kombucha tea, fresh vegetables, tilapia, and beer...with virtually no waste!

When using organic material that decomposes, you are simply releasing the CO2 that was already in the air before the plant absorbed it. When you burn coal or oil, then you are releasing carbon that was in the soil. You have to look at the carbon cycle, not just at your carbon output.
