@kismutt1 I think birth is just one of those very personal choices every woman has to make for herself. I'm very glad to hear that you know what you want for the next time :-) Cheers!
Why would anyone want a homebirth and all the pain when you can go to hospital and have an epideral? I had one baby with an epideral and one all natural. If I ever had a third, I would absoutely go with the epideral and a hospital!!
@Sweet92Sue I'm sorry to hear that your aunt died but most midwives know when to take the mother to the hospital and now a days there is always a back up plan and I don't think anyone would let a mother go through three days of labor without taking her to the hospital. Luckily, midwives now have more access to technology. Hospital care does save lives but homebirth is not just an experience, it's proven best for mother and baby unless you are a "high risk" mother.May your aunt R.I.P.
This is all wonderful if a woman has a simple, uncomplicated birth. However, my great aunt died at age 25 after three days of laboring at home...a senseless death of both mother and baby, and one that needn't happen these days. It's fine to try for a home birth, but if your need for an "experience" supersedes the best interest of your baby, there's a problem. Hospital care saves lives!
@UnbelievableX99 LOL there won't be a next time :) I have had 2 and that is plenty :)

@faerywitchful1 I'm 18 and plan on having a homebirth when pregnant, but you are correct. The risks are there.
