  • Nice work, way to put in Ufer!

  • This was a great win for the Wolverines. After beating MSU 8 straight times from 1970-1977, Michigan State went into Ann Arbor unranked in 1978 and stunned NO. 5 ranked Michigan, 24-15. Michigan was looking for serious revenge against little brother in this game, and they got it by beating the NO. 16 ranked Spartans by two TD's in East Lansing. This was probably Michigans highlight victory of 1979, as it was their only victory over a ranked team.

  • If you like Ufer when they win, you gotta hear him in defeat. Find the Purdue game where they beat Michigan with a field goal. Bob reads off 3 different final scores, because he was so bumbed out. In the end, he just says, "WHO GIVES A DAMN what the final score is". But his inspiration post game shows, would have you fired up for Ohio State, in the second game of the season! He called Woody Hayes, "DR. STRANGE HAYES, and his jumping test tubes"! And how about 3 toots from the George Patton horn!

  • My mom made go shopping that day! When I saw Ralph Clayton in person, he looked like a defensive end or a power foreward. The Wolfman was a huge guy. And Bob Ufer was the most hated broadcaster in the Big Ten. He was so fired up, he taped his ankles before every game!

And if they ever make a movie about Ufer, ROBIN WILLIAMS has to play him. He is the only man that can match Ufer's spirit. And Bob LOVED his beloved MEEECHIGAN TO DEATH! What a great era of Meeeeechigan Football. GO BLUE!

  • Number 23 Lawrence Reid the fullback is my uncle:)

  • Boy that Ufer was a nut....

  • The best Football Rivalry in Michigan which might not be saying much

  • The Battle of Michigan between the two dominant Football Programs in the state

  • Man, what an awesome announcer! So fun to listen to!

  • Meeeeechigan! Ufer was a classic.
