My Sammy has started making this weird noise. Don't really know what is wrong with it to be honest.
If you have had the same problem and know the cause. Please don't hesitate to let me know!

  • @benja102. It definitely seems to be the speaker at the bottom right. And I must admit I do pick the laptop up at that point on a regular basis. So maybe that has contributed to the problem.

I don't really want to send the laptop off for repair though, as I require it for University notetaking etc.

Did you find that the area got extremely hot when left buzzing for long periods? I suppose a complaint about this might make Samsung take notice! What with it being a fire hazard!

  • I have had this on my NC10. For anyone diagnosing theirs........... for me, it wasnt the speaker or electrics, its a faulty hard drive. When it starts making this noise, copy all important files off your hard drive. Buy a new hard drive for £30 - fit it (dead easy - posidrive screwdriver required). This should sort it.

  • @Avril546 I suggest you take it for repair - there might be a way to fix it yourself, but I don't know how.

  • @benja102 mine is doin the same wat do i do

  • I had this problem 7 months after buying my NC10. I took it for repair - was told it was a faulty speaker, so had it replaced and it's now fine. Before taking it in, I was usually able to stop the noise by squeezing the bottom-right of the laptop (the bit you focus in on at 0.08), and by avoiding holding it from that side afterwards.

I don't know why this fault should arise, but I used to hold my NC10 at that bottom-right corner, which might have contributed.
