"And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins" (2 Nephi 25:26).

"And men are instructed sufficiently that they know good from evil. And the law is given unto men. And by the law no flesh is justified; or, by the law men are cut off. Yea, by the temporal law they were cut off; and also, by the spiritual law they perish from that which is good, and become miserable forever.
Wherefore, redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah; for he is full of grace and truth.
Behold, he offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered.
Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah, who layeth down his life according to the flesh, and taketh it again by the power of the Spirit, that he may bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, being the first that should rise.
Wherefore, he is the firstfruits unto God, inasmuch as he shall make intercession for all the children of men; and they that believe in him shall be saved" (2 Nephi 2:5-9).

"O how great the holiness of our God! For he knoweth all things, and there is not anything save he knows it.
And he cometh into the world that he may save all men if they will hearken unto his voice; for behold, he suffereth the pains of all men, yea, the pains of every living creature, both men, women, and children, who belong to the family of Adam.
And he suffereth this that the resurrection might pass upon all men, that all might stand before him at the great and judgment day.
And he commandeth all men that they must repent, and be baptized in his name, having perfect faith in the Holy One of Israel, or they cannot be saved in the kingdom of God" (2 Nephi 9:20-23).

"All ye ends of the earth, hearken unto these words and believe in Christ; and if ye believe not in these words believe in Christ. And if ye shall believe in Christ ye will believe in these words, for they are the words of Christ, and he hath given them unto me; and they teach all men that they should do good.
And if they are not the words of Christ, judge ye—for Christ will show unto you, with power and great glory, that they are his words, at the last day" (2 Nephi 33:10-11).

The only ones making the accusations are EX-Mormons & non-Mormons, but when asked for specific information--identities of bishops, wards, stakes, etc.--they backdown.

"The top leadership of the LDS Church" cannot "clear it up for us all" unless they know who is over stepping their authority & remind them of Church policy. Whoever is violating Church guidelines must be interviewed by someone who can determine if the offender will change or be replaced.

  • Tell you what: Let the top leadership of the LDS Church clear it up for us all. That should solve the problem, yes? You can bet that those who have left the church will ultimately tell the truth. EX-Mormon sites are loaded with these stories. I understand that they have an axe to grind, but they aren't all lying.

You speak in generalities when talking about what Mormons report to their bishops. But you are reluctant to give any specifics about where it is happening. I have friends or relatives in Calif, Conn, Ark, Texas, Maryland, Mich, Colo, Wash, and Idaho, just to name a few. None of them have encountered the things that you reported. My daughter in Colo asked me if I had ever been asked for IRS forms, because she heard about it for the first time on FaceBook.

  • @GaryKColeman Look up the words exegesis and hermeneutics. It will do you a world of good. I had hoped to avoid saying this, but I've seen mormons talking about reporting everything to their bishop. I've seen Christian converts from Mormonism maligned and bullied, ostracized to the point that law enforcement had to get involved. I know what these people go through, and they are quite happy to tell me your practices are. Go read the Mormon Mirage by Latayne Scott. It should enlighten you.

  • @GaryKColeman Here is the a simple answer. We (true Christians) are one together in the family of God, but we will never be one in Christ as Christ described himself in the Trinity all over the New Testament. And, no, God isn't going to rapture us to Kolob. No, you will never become a God, not even little 'g' god. Mormons are not part of the elect. Sorry. I will pray for you and pray for your salvation. It's not too late to meet the Risen King.

Knowing the name of the ward or the bishop will not compromise your neighbor's privacy. You say that many LDS members report the same thing. This seems to be a problem in your area. The stake name would be enough for Church leaders to contact the stake president and inform him of the proper method for conducting interviews.

I have never been asked for such forms. My friends & family are scattered all over & none of them have either.

'PROPER EXEGESIS of scripture." Wow! Is that just a fancy way of saying that you can't answer my questions, or does it mean that any interpretation of scripture that doesn't agree with your experts is not PROPER?

My questions seem to be rather simple. Will the Apostles become one with the Father and the Son just like They are one?

  • 2) As to the specific ward, that's not going to happen. My neighbor has a right to privacy. But if it makes you feel any better, I'm a third grade teacher and most of my students were Mormon and many of their parents reported the same customary IRS evaluations. Paul taught that Jesus now expects that every man should consider what they can give and to give with a cheerful heart, not an IRS audit via a Bishop or Stake President. Mormons are not Christians. Sorry but that's the truth.

  • @GaryKColeman You seem to have a problem with the PROPER EXEGESIS of scripture. It's really appalling. It's not surprising though. Anyone who'll buy into the whole planet Kolob has clearly lost a few dendrites. You might want to read 'Knowing God' by J.I. Packer, "The forgotten Trinity" by James White. Add Dr. John MacArthur, Dr. John Piper, Mr. Phil Johnson, Chris Rosebrough, Charles Spurgeon, John Wycliff, Jonathon Edwards and Martin Luther. Happy reading and Happy Reformation Day.

  • @SkiesVibrant

You say that your neighbor "has to take her IRS forms to the Bishop so she can get her Temple Recommend." Can you give the name of the city & state there? Also, the names of the Bishop, the ward, and the stake. I will contact Church headquarters and find out why the Bishop is doing that. Thank you.
