Pharmacy Technician Program: 01/ 25 to 4/29 Monday and Thursday 6 to 9 pm and 3/23 to 7/03 Tuesday 6 to 9 pm and Saturday 9 am to 12. This 14 week program of instruction prepares individuals for entry-level jobs as a Pharmacy Technician in retail and institutional settings. Graduates may find employment with local community pharmacies, hospitals, retail pharmacies, mail-order drug companies, and insurance companies. Students will learn to prepare prescription orders under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, perform applicable pharmacy calculations, and comply with federal and state regulatory agency laws and regulations. Upon completion of this program students will be able to perform all the duties required in any pharmacy practice setting. Students are also prepared to take the certification exam offered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). The program consists of 84 hours of lecture and lab, followed by an 120 hour externship in a local pharmacy setting. The externship is included in the cost of the course and is set up by NCP staff.
Veterinary Assistant Program: 4/05 to 6/28 Monday and Thursday 5:30 to 9:30 pm. The Veterinary Assistant certification program offers our students both theoretical and practical training through hands-on experience. Classes meet 2 days a week for four hours each session. The duration of the course is twelve (12) weeks. In addition to 96 hours in the classroom, students are required to complete an 80-clock-hour externship experience in order to graduate the program. The externship serves as working experience, as well as a reference for future employment.
