This is showing the removal of the front timing cover on a 94 Ford Bronco 351w. This repair applys to all 302's, and all 351w engines. Originally we had a leaking water pump, but ended up having to replace the front timing cover due to the front water pump bolts rusting in the block and breaking off inside the timing cover. Very common on this Ford era engine. . I had purchased a defective new water pump from Oreilly's. The front hub where the pulley bolts onto was bent, causing escessive vibration in the engine. This is a technical video showing how to remove the front timing cover from this engine.

  • =/ I have to do this with my 89 f250 5.8l 351w tomorrow. It would turn off by itself and id have to keep it reved to have it stay on. also my radiator was bone dry. When i got to school this morning it shutoff at the entrance and there was a lot of smoke or steam coming from near the battery.

  • @johnatv1995 I would check to see if you got a bad radiator hose, or possibly one of the tanks on the radiator busted. Doesn't sound like a waterpump or timing cover issue if you got steam coming near the battery. If you need to pressure test the system just go to autozone and rent a coolant system pressure tester. Its about $75 to rent, and you get your deposit back once your done with it.

  • Thank you for posting this.

  • @bluesuperman74 Not a problem. I hope this helps you if your repairing one of these older Fords.

  • My water pump is spraying every where on my bronco i priced them at advanced 30 dollars with a life time warrenty no to bad

  • well i just finished putting in the water pump and im going out soon to replace the curved radiator hose. and if it doesnt work i'll go to get the tester later on. thank you John

  • @bigexodus How come there are so many idiots on youtube. Do you really think that all parts sold by a dealer, at three times the price, are perfect? They have the same failure rate as any parts store. But go right ahead and shop at the dealer for parts. It keeps all the union boys working.

  • why don't you drain the anit freeze and pour it back in?

  • @bigexodus Thats gonna get expensive. as long as it's a genuine Motorcraft water pump it should be good.

  • Stop shopping at aftermarket stores and go to a Ford dealer.

  • Take it back and demand your money back. It's BS that they gave you a damaged part. If that ever happens again talk to a lawyer.
