Last week, Democratic Rep. Russ Carnahan's health care town hall in St. Louis, Missouri turned violent after conservative right-wing protesters clashed with pro-reform union workers. On MSNBC's "The Ed Show," Dr. L Toni Lewis, President of the Committee of Interns and Residents (CIR), discusses SEIU's ongoing efforts to keep the focus of town halls on the need for health care reform.

Several weeks ago I received a call from Dr. Lewis to join in a live townhall meeting with her and Andy Stern. They had no reason to call me, I'm not a member of SEIU. The only way they could have received my number as it is unlisted, was to have gleaned it from a Democratic Party list. As an Independent, I subscribe to a DNC newsletter to see what they are up to. So the DNC is providing info to SEIU, hmmmm interesting, comrades.

You cant legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person gets without working for, another must work for without getting. The gov cant give what it doesnt first take from someone. When people think they dont have to work because others are going to take care of them, and when the other people realize it does no good to work when others take what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cant multiply wealth by dividing it.

I think people are getting fed up. Just sitting at home and saying they are against something isnt working. So they feel like they have to get out and scream about it.
