  • A cynical and bitter song done to perfection. I can't imagine what was going through Jimmy's mind when he did this. I'm pretty sure he was the carpet man.

  • jimmy l webb is simply the best.....

  • Wow !!! what a find to yet another Jim Webb classic loved this group who seemed so damned good & of course the wonderful Marilyn & Florence at the forefront both in voice & stunning beauty xXx

  • The sitar part was the best part of the song.

  • Love that sitar. A classic... scratches and all.

    Thanks for the memories.

  • Nothing can beat the harmony of the great 'Fifth Dimmension"!

  • this is what one would call talent

  • great song should have charted much higher in early '68

  • Love the THUD at the beginning and the scratches at the end and the distorted sound. What memories, what memories. Great song, too!

  • @steveinbelgium PLEASE post Johnny Rivers version of Carpet Man. It is not on YouTube. Thanks
