This is the first test with an experimental DIY wind turbine made out with a capacitator coupled 1.75kW ASEA 3-phase electric motor and two home made blades which have been carved in swedish pine-tree, (Pinus sylvestris).

Everything is hooked up onto a front-loader in a specific wind direction (South), which means that it cant turn exactly into the wind at this moment, which tremendously decreases the efficiency.
A 'gondol' with 'weathercock' and automatic breaking will be built later on which will increase the efficiency dramatically.

Furthermore, the load controller (see previous video, 'DIY Load Control') is made out of analog circuits and is therefore quite coarse when it comes to tuning the generating RPM-spectra of the generator.
Later on, an digital load controller will be built which will increase the energy production even further!

Except this, there is a great deal of optimization left and I will keep you updated on the oncoming improvements!

Some physical data:
N° of blades: 2
Blade diametre: 3m (which is the building permit limit*)
Electric motor: 1.5\1.75 kW , 1400\1700 RPM 3-phase.
Gear drive: 5.3:1
Height of hub: ~2.5m
Approx. wind: 4-6 (10) m\s (got to check the anemometer)
