kk i am pretty sure i have two female leo's i brought them to a pet store and they said they were both females. buht today i caught one of them shaking their tail, so i kept my eyes peeled then i saw leo1 get on top of my other leo2. then i saw leo2 start biting back and trying to run away. and leo1 kept getting on top. they have been together there whole life. since they were 2months old now about 14months old. Ok I see what you mean. but if it does get violent aren't you supposed to separate them. I'm not saying that yours was but just a question for, well i'm not going to lie but i am a first time breeder and that was what i had heard.Good news is i think my female is pregnant. Oh one last thing do you need to separate the male and the female while the female is pregnant.

If it gets out of hand violent, than yes you need to separate them.
Once the girl is pregnant it is smart to separate them just because the male can get curious, and at times destroy the eggs on accident or sometimes on purpose.
Good luck on the soon to be momma!

Ok thank you but i do need to ask do you mean destroy them when they are layed because i have an incubator to put the eggs in.
Leopardgeckolover1 2 years ago
Well, you may not be there the second the eggs come out, so during that time is when the male can do damage.
But read up on temperatures for incubating, then read it again!

not to be rude or anything but when the female bites back that usually means that she is not ready and if the male persists u are supposed to separate them.

I have been breeding Leos for about 5 years and I have seen this do the same thing all the time.
She is just trying to show her dominance over him,and it is normal.
They don't need to be separated until she resists the whole time he tries,up until penetration.
