@kurt16950 thats only 350 watts? theres a motor that has 1500 watts that motor sucks
-
looks too heavy to pedal.

Nah mate it's not like a Vespa it's a push scooter with a 55cc 2-stroke engine on it. ill make a video if you like but it's mostly pulled apart because i was porting it.

You should really look around, there are many e-bikes out there with more kick than a 55cc 2 stroke scooter. Plus if you are smart and ride the speed limits on public roads, you don't ever need a liscence, unlike scooters.

I agree with you however NiMH batteries are not as safe as S.L.A's. They do not hold up as well with high currents.

The controller matters because you can get different ratings for them.. Some can accept more power than others.(different voltages and amps) This matters because higher amps means more torque out of your motor, higher voltage means more rpms and possibly more speeds. Be sure its compatible tho. Your throttle simply sends the signals. And even that matters! You can get incompatible throttles typically when buying parts, not as a kit.
-
why does the controller matter? all it does is send signals from your throttle through the battery to your motor right?
what kind of motor do you have?
-
Yeah i agree i think id rather my Scooter with a 55cc 2-stroke engine... :P it has a little bit more of a kick in the pants.

junk
We sell bikes with up to 5000watts. The goal of many ebikes is not more power, but the best balance of power, style, and range. THis bike is continuously year after year our best selling ebike of the 12 or so model we have. It keeps under the legal speed limit and crowds the legal limit for most states in order to not license as a power assist bike. For me personally, it is not my favorite ebike. I have one that I built that is 1000w and will cruise at 40 mph, nevertheless, this is popular.

This battery is standard Lead-Acid, when I ebike 6 miles to work and back I only find I pedal on the steep slopes, not too much because the motor is faster than I can really pedal unless it is going up a hill and the motor is in its lug mode where it slows down to gain torque, then I know it would be good for battery life to pedal to assist. So, even though this is called a pedal-assist, I dont' really pedal much except when starting out or on hills... it is great!
