Soulforce Equality Ride visit to Patrick Henry College

The Soulforce Equality Ride visits the campus of Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, VA, a small, Protestant school whose express mission is to train Christians to lead in civil government and shape culture with "timeless biblical values." Patrick Henry College actively discriminates against gay and transgender students, faculty and staff.

The PHC campus is private property, the demonstrators were advised of PHC rules... they made the decision to knowingly violate these rules and cross the barrier. The police were told by their supervisors to arrest anyone that crossed the line.

PHC campus is also a Christian one, and unfortunately, one with which Christ would be ashamed. Hospitality, my friend, would have been offered by Christ. It is sad to know that PHC chose to act in direct disobedience to the Gospel of Our Lord.

The town of Purcellville police department requested that the state and the county provide extra resources - because the 13-14 member department isn't equipped to handle that many demonstrators (with the possibility of more). The state police and Loudon county sheriff's department decided how many officers to provide.

To "jerrydoubleu": PHC was more than willing to speak with the demonstrators OFF campus. The demonstrators would not accept that offer.

And... it doesn't matter who requested the extra police. Over 100 law enforcement personnel for what was known to be a non-violent, peaceful gathering was entirely too much and a waste of tax payer monies. In all of Soulforce history, we have never had a violent gathering or violent altercation... EVER. The Police presence was too much.

This video contains a number of incorrect statements. The two most important things that people should know are 1.) PHC *is* accredited by a nationally recognized agency, and 2.) Soulforce *was* invited to engage in legitimate debate with student representatives, but they refused.

It is wrong to say that the college was afraid to face Soulforce when the college did in fact openly invite Soulforce to engage in legitimate, no-nonsense, rational debate.

@matthillnc u apparently know nothing about Christ... he did sit with sinners and dined with the unrighteous..but that doesnt change the fact that they were in fact unrighteous...he told them that they were...he loved them, and he said to the homosexuals, and prostitutes, and cheats..."go, and sin no more." he loved and died for them so that we would be free from those things. he loves us, yes...but he cannot tolerate sin.

@matthillnc are u attempting to put race/color with gayness as an equality issue? please dont do that it devalues people everywhere of every race and gender. Homosexuality is not scientific or genetic, it is an emotional, psychological and spiritual PROBLEM that can be changed and is not "who you are." I cna inform u if u like. When the founding fathers said "the pursuit of happiness" they were talking from a Christian worldview, not the messed up one that screws with concepts of natural rights

Both Patrick Henry and Soulforce are idiotic... P.H. are trying to put people who strongly believe in gods "word" into the government, and whats even worse is that some come from narrow/close minded private schools or are home taught. Not the people I want running my government at all. Soulforce are just idiotic for putting on a charade when P.H. invited them. If you ask me, both sides show whats wrong with America, and when they clash normal everyday citizens must suffer.

Just wondering, why would a man want to go with another man that acts just like a female. Somebody please tell me. Just go get you a WOMAN. And gays are free to live there little confusing life but don't try to make it a law that every denomination should agree with you just live your life and expect people to look at you in an acquired way. Cause homosexuality is acquired. My opinion.
