  • does anyone know if i wanted to do this for my school science fair if it wood be safe?

  • @iCODiBALLiWEEZY

Shure thats what i made it for. I wouldnt suggest launching it at school tho.

  • ********* yo help me please!

I tried this for extra credit at ma school...and like i dnt no wer i went wrong but it didnt work...it went like 2 to 3 feet...the launch

    1. at :35, how did u get the inside to be that perfect of a circle cut out...

    2. how much lighter fluid did u put in

    help please

  • to get a perfect circle i used something called a hole saw (look it up)( you put it on a drill and it makes a perfectally circular hole). And you need to put in around 1/2 teaspoon of lighter fluid but i think we used a LITTLE bit more. if you got 2 much then the cannon will explode.

  • i did this but the prngle cans didnt fit as perfecyly as yours did? i havent launched it but is that a problem?

  • first cut holes in the bottom. i dont think it matters that they arnt perfect but they should be pretty close. then wrap it all in duct tape including the bottom. i used a whole role on mine. then puor in lighter fluid and try to get it to the bottom chamber. make a touch hole put the ball in and boom it up.

  • I love the backyard ballistics book!

  • @mattto14 The diamater of the baffles, or " holes" as you refer to them are what make the mortar work. they should be about half of the diameter of the bottom of the can. Shitty baffles can ruin your mortar. I made a mortar today because i had nothing else to do and with a little extra work on the baffles made all the difference- I got atleast a 100 yards distance on my best shot.

  • Lol I feel so stupid I couldn't ignite mine it turns out I made a hole in the wrong place

  • A lot safer if you use PVC... Plus you can cap the end and use glue, not duct tape. Not to mention, spray the inside of the tube, and use a grill lighter thats glued in to the base to ignite. Launches potatoes hundreds of feet.

  • @MultiLordSam We used 4 pringles cans and taped them all together, like in the video. We also used a cardboard tube that newsprint paper comes on instead of pvc. to get the best launch blow in the front of the mortar and spray a little right guard. the drop in the ball, baseballs work the best, spray the spray in the back hole, like in the vid, blow a little more in the back hole, and then light over the hole. hint- wear ear protection =)

  • @rhett2909 sir, could you tell me how you made it?

    Sam

  • Could this work with water baloons?
