A Neo Nazi group known by the name of
Initiative Süd West
won a case on appeal
in the German courts
to march through the city of
Mainz, Germany
after the courts originally
chose to forbid it
back
in April 2009.
The slogan was to be

01. Mai 2009 - Sozial geht nur National
(socialism can only
work
through nationalism)
A word play
on the socialist theme of the
May 1st holiday.
So a number of anti Nazi groups
decided
to take to the streets
and
prevent the march
from even
taking place.
Together with the people of
Mainz
they took
to the streets
on
May 1 2009...

The man you see in a squared shirt at 3:30 is a cop, he was standing in the demonstrants, with normal clothes and came when the situation came to calm down the cops. the situation escalated when a guy wanted to get into the trainstation and they wouldnt let him in because he had no ticket. actually you buy tickets IN the station.

da die nazis gegen ausländer sind, also menschen diskriminieren /sie aus deutschland haben wollen ihrer herkunft wegen, ist das ein verstoß gegen Artikel 3 des grundgesetzes. und alles was gegen das grundgesetz ist, ist nun mal oft verboren ^^ deshalb wurde auch damals in den 60igern die KPD verboten.

Served with the 8th Infantry Division for 2 years in Mainz back in the '80s. Mainz is a beautiful city with beautiful people. I have a lot of fond memories from my time there. The people of Mainz were always warm and welcoming. Cheers to the people of Mainz for standing up against the low-life, ass-wipe nazis.
