  • Very sad. Yes, they needed to get the knife away, but they could have busted her hips or killed her.

  • @123seal--- Cops make 50K-75K per year and are trained to deal with grannys like this. Their training includes how to know when a person is missing all marbles and even assuming that granny had all marbles, she was no threat to anyone what so ever. Correct respond by cops should have been restraint, investigate & then use proportionate force to subdue the subject. Now old lady walking with cane is confronted & immediateloy slammed to ground, by rules of conduct is excesive use of force.

  • IDIOT DR. "they had to do somthing"

They did nt have to do anything right away. SHe was not attcking, threatening or harming anyone. By that virtue, idiot cops should have shown some restraint and investigated the situation before assaulting/attacking this person. Cops are actually trained to understand when dealing with mentsally challenged persons. They re not suppose to just show up and slam anyone to the ground, especially when there was no threat.

  • Protect and serve is what their badge says, so the officer approaches a person with a walking stick and that can barley hold herself up. If that would of been a regular strong young man the officer could not have grab his rist and thrown them down with a knive in hand. The correct persedure for the officer should of been call for back up and keep distance. With more people there they could of disarmed her if she was attempting to be hostile, but I think she was more confused then threatening.

  • @Scientologists4Angle

She's an Alzheimer's sufferer and her daughter, who should have known better, left her strapped into the car by her seatbelt, alone. She had originally used the knife to cut herself loose from the seatbelt straps but then when she got out of the car she became confused, scared and disoriented, as AD sufferers are prone to do.

They need to charge the daughter with elderly abuse, IMHO.

  • keep your parents at home if they don't have their minds, this is what to expect.

  • i'm Caribbean black i dont see how yuh can make this into a racial ting d lady had a knife she wouldn't nuh put it down the police was doin they're job point blank, colour had nothing to do with this

  • SHE TRIED TO CUT PEOPLE? LOL..what the hell is this? What is this country coming to? Watch some T.V. and chill da fuck out.

  • Title 42, Section 1983 of The United States Code (42 U.S.C. §1983).

  • It sucks being a Police officer at times, if she would have not took her down she could have hurt some one so people would hate the cop for not doing her job. Now she did her job and people hate the cop, well why hate the police officer when they're doing their best to keep crazy people of the streets?
