@karlbaudoin J'habite en France et j'ai connu votre père, votre grand-mère et vos oncles. J'étais jeune mais je me souviens d'un homme vraiment trés beau, blond, grand avec des yeux d'un bleu azur magnifique, d'une gentillesse et d'une trés grande modestie.

He was my father but I have no memories of him, only photos and, of course, his movies (I haven't seen many actually). He died too young. But, in spite of his "biography" on Wikipedia, he didn't commit suicide at all. Of that I am sure. He fought his brain tumor until the end with the best specialist helping him. Such is life anyway

You ask for more details. A few things come to my mind: He was very gifted and spoke many languages (German, English, Spanish, Italian, French, and others I believe), he loved photography and sometimes, between films, stormed into our lives to have fun, take a hundred photos, and went away again...
