"KCTS 9 Connects" with host Enrique Cerna.
Airs Fridays at 7:30 p.m. on KCTS 9.
After years of being poked and prodded in the name of science, many chimps live out the rest of their lives in small, cramped cages.
Airdate: Jan. 23, 2009
@BEtran07 can you imagine releasing chimpanzees into the wild who were abused, infected with HIV and SIV (simian version of HIV, or used for Ebola and Hep C research) raised inhumanely, not exposed to social interaction and who have a variety of physiological and psychological issues loose in their natural African forest???Many of these chimps have never set foot on grass, much less ever lived in Africa.

Didn't NW Sanctuary open a huge outside area recently? Or is it planned?

It's great that they have this sanctuary but have they ever thought about releasing them in their natural habitat?
