L7 - fucking great band - I was there at Reading and witnessed this. Probably the only thing to come off a stage that wasn't fought over in the audience. I walked up front after they'd done their set and saw the very tampon laid in the mud! (Or at least it was a bit of a coincidence if it was another one!). Don't know if anyone picked it up later or not, but I'm guessing not! Sad that this is the main thing they're remembered for though, they were a great band.

Back then I remember people saying "yeah, their music is great but they should look like Lita Ford". That's exactly why I loved them so much. They would never go down to that level of acting like barbie dolls to please people, they would never pose as weak or inferior. That attitude of "I'll kick you in the nuts if you piss me off" or "I'll f**k and fight just like you guys" is what made them so unique.
