One of the rare occasions that I'm not shooting military (or government agency) aviation videos... For those of you that have never been to LAX in your travels, this just goes to show what an amazing volume of traffic comes in and out of LAX in a short period of time. Dallas Ft Worth, Atlanta, Phoenix Sky Harbor, Minneapolis St Paul are all busy airports I've been to and are very similar to LAX, but LAX gets all the normal commercial flights PLUS all the trans-Pacific and other international flights, both PAX and cargo.

My wife was at a coworker's wedding in Carson, CA (urban suburb of LA) and I came along. But I of course decided to sneak out and take a real quick detour to the infamous In-N-Out burger on Sepulveda Blvd; one of the best and most well known locations to "spot" heavy commercial flights. Not to mention that famous California favorite (the Double Double). If you haven't had one, you'd better try one on your next California visit. ;)

I only spent 15 minutes there on this occasion, and what you see in this video is what flew during those 15 minutes. A mix of 747s, 737s, 757s, 767s, 777s, Airbus A319/320, A340, commuter jet and prop. The only editing I did was to compress the small amount of dead time and get the video down to 10 minutes. LAX is so busy I could have just posted the video in it's complete state and there would have been no need to cut anything otherwise! Even more amazing is you're only seeing half the activity (24L and 24R). Like most giant airports there are an entirely opposite set of runways (25L and 25R) on the south end of the airport that are doing their thing simultaneous to everything occuring in my video.

Arrivals for this side of the airport are on 24R. Departures for this side of the airport are 24L. To fans of my military videos, fear not... for I have not forgotten you. More videos are in the pipe...

  • @britishairwayspilot1 Im not sure British!!! I was wondering the same thing. I like the alternating lights cause they look cool. And why is Southwest the only Airline to have a few Aircraft that carry the alternating lights? Thats the two questions I have always wondered.
