KJ has a normal set of responsibilities for a young guy. He's got a job, an apartment in Seattle, a degree from the University of Washington, and a loving family in Maple Valley. And as we all know, as you get older more responsibilities will inevitably pile on. Unlike the rest of us, however, KJ's got a little more on his plate. He stands to inherit chiefdom over a tribe of over 100,000 people.
His father is the paramount chief of the Mo tribe in Bamboi, Ghana. Someday, if the tribal elders see fit, the role will pass on to KJ--if he wants it.
Nana follows KJ as he navigates the drastically different worlds of Seattle and Bamboi. He's pursuing a career in the States, leading projects to benefit the Mo, and figuring out who he is and what it means to lead a people half a world away.
