Baker County commissioner Mike Griffis at the North Florida Broadband Authority's initial meeting August 7 at Lake City Community College. The authority is attempting to use federal stimulus grants to install wireless broadband Internet access to remote areas of 14 counties in northern central Florida. Baker County is 95 percent served already via providers like NEFCOM and others. Mr. Griffis is also a GM with NEFCOM.
