@pazam03 More and more countries of EU start seeing islam and muslim illegal immigrants as a threat to setled way of life. France, Greece, UK, Malta, Italy, Spain... problems might easily occur in Germany, Holland, Austria and other countries.

EU has not common policy for emmigrants, so the problem is mostly for countries at borders of EU where those ppl arrive first, but then they can not go inside Europe. Central Europe countries should releaf peripherial countries by accepting some of them.

@BitnikGr as i've said before, the aid is just a small fraction of the budget. 4 bil $ is nothing in terms of military budget. the US army spends more then that on toilet paper. the fact that most of the surrounding countries are 3rd world dictatorships their fault. though it is true that most of the surrounding countries are no match to the IDF, first of all - there's still iran - which poses a serious threat. also you have the sheer numbers of the surrounding armies(WW2 was won with the..

Instead of that we receive only pressures to buy more and more weapons from main EU industries like France and Germany in spite of always growing tensions in region and in order to keep parity with traditional troublemaker and bully Turkey.

Your comparision with 300 Spartans is not let's say "politically correct".

@pazam03 I know that. I don't say that you don't have good heavy and military industry and top quality exports. Since 1948 your country made a huge advantage with huge steps. Part of this success was and is economical aid you receive.

Same Lockheed Martin later will buy various components for F-35 made in Israel at cost of $4bill... so, not only you receive 20 F-35 for free, but you'll get a $4bils profit later.

@BitnikGr well, the merkava series was developed in israel by israeli engineers. so are many of the weapon systems used by the IDF. of course the 3 billion $ help, but it is only a fraction of the israeli defense budget. israel is one of the biggest technology exporters in the world, we have development centers of most of the big hi-tech firms in the world (microsoft, intel, google, ibm, and so on..) . the money to fund our military come from within our (relatively) strong economy.
