Quatermass and the Pitt, the appearance of satan? In the movie this is just what happens when mass loses form and is transfered to energy, of course being energy means it can just be discharged. Poop! - I may replace the backing music noise later, but i kind of like the evilness of it.

Man, God bless YouTube. This devil/grasshopper image has been in my subconscious for decades. The movie terrified me as a kid in the 1970s, but I could not remember the name. It's being released on DVD this month by Hammer, and apparently they are looking for an American distributor.

the movie is called FIVE MILLON YEARS TO EARTH sorry, But i checked at the local video store the movie has not been released yet probably held up by religious morons who think it has somthing to do with satan. its a grass hopper ruler from mars. scared the shit out of me when i was a kid. I stayed up late to watch tv and saw this movie.got some bad dreams out of that.

I think it should be pointed out that this is not supposed to be Satan. The premise of this superb film is that Martian creatures infiltrated the minds of human beings in prehistory. As a result, mankind's vision of evil was these Martian arthropods. It is a brilliant story that uses science fiction to explain the human fascination with evil and the devil.
