  • excellent vid helped me a load wen i was paintin mine cheers :)

  • @martinashcroft1 Thanks, Pm me a link.

  • what grain sand paper did u use and would i need to sand down a synthetic stock because iv just bourgh a ultra and thinking of doing the stock

  • @ghillie35 I would wipe down a synethic stock wearing gloves with thinners. Try a little section out of sight to see how the paint sticks with the matt finish - If all is well then do the stock as you wish.

After stripping the stock I rubbed down with 400 grain. Applied base coats and rubbed down between coats to get the grain loaded and to a point where the grain wont lift and be rough.

  • never rush it like this bozo, tape things down take your time... prep is everything.

  • @LosAngelesWeedSmoker 'Bozo'? I see you have not done any vids on the subject! You are a swimming instructor that cant swim! A Marriage Counselor that has never been married. Stick to your favorite vids and what you know best, sucking the weed, bloody Cheech and Chong wannabe.

This was a natural grass patern effect (random), not a regimented system like I did the DPM Ultra.

  • damn Dude You're fcking good at this Job!!

  • Nerves, I was shaking and full of doubt

  • I have also done simular to other items. Its not finished yet, more colours. Then many coats of matt poly to seal and protect it. I know what you mean about chips and scratches but my Webley longbow lasted very well indeed. Obviously if you drag it across rocks it will mark.

I have used scrim, but chose to do this, personal choice.
