  • Hey Diana;

    Capuchins are Franciscans which are mendicants. In others words they are not "monks" they are FRIARS!

    I could see this getting past you but I'm disappointed with Frankie -- he seems pretty sharp.

    Thanks for the videos...

    Cheers;

    M.

  • Yeah, that Frankie is such a jerk LOL

  • On the one hand I can see why you think it's cool to have video of this place and show it to other people, but on the other hand it was really disrespectful. The bones in there are from real people, and a lot of cultures have taboos about disrespectful images, which is one of the reasons why they don't want people filming in there. It's a graveyard and a shrine, not just a gimmick for tourists and youtubers to gawk at.

  • I guess the gift shop when you first enter is totally respectful LOL

  • omg!!! u scared the crap outta me. when i saw the word capuchin i thought u were taking about the monkey. i waz like nooo!!!

  • The capuchin monks made this shrine because at the renaisaince time of which it wasmade, philosophy was very prestigious and well seen, and having that siad. The monks did this because they wanted to remembered and they wanted to show that their bodily forms meant nothing, their bones and such were just that, bones. and the vision of immortaility was also just nothing.

    (from my classical civilisations teacher)

  • cappadocians!! D:"

  • wait! so this is in ROME?! Yay! I think I found the answer!

  • my mum and dad went rome last easter they were in a hotel down that road called via veneto

  • Wow, this is wild! Personally, I'm glad you snuck a camera in, because I was very curious. I wonder whose job it was to clean off the bones and arrange them? Weird. I'm going to Italy in the spring, and I can't wait!
