The story begins when two strangers meet in a dark corridor where they light up their sabers and take off on an exciting and fast paced skirmish through the abandoned halls of Bernice MacNaughton High School.

Trivia:

-The title "Abusive Relationships" was not originally intended. This title stuck as an insider joke about having accidentally taken over someones personal development project on abusive relationships when dumping the first footage on one of the school's Macs.

-AR2 has been attempted as an EP film project twice and failed both times for different reasons (mainly regarding poor organization).

-Lightsaber props were made out of materials bought at Home Depot.

-All lightsaber rotoscoping was completed within a single weekend (about 20 hours of actual editing time)

-Over half of the filming occurred while either school drama or rugby team was practicing just inches out of frame (in some scenes you can see people, shadows and part of limbs).

-The entire AR1 choreography script was written on the back of 6 of the School Cafeteria Lunch Menu's.

  • @dannyfair32 thanks man, we put a lot into this.

  • I still like watching this video. It's sooo good!!!

  • I also want to point out that AR1 was shot with one of Mr. Cormier's old handycams. The dump quality was great in editing until I had to convert the cut footage to a PC compatible format so I could add the lightsaber effect at home. The quality was a sacrifice made so that lightsabers could be added. When I asked Cormier what I could do to preserve the quality, he didn't have a solution. Therefore I blame computers! The lesson is to never cross OSs during post.

  • Well I'll tell you what. If I did make a movie and it was choppy, I wouldn't release it. But you don't have to be a dick about criticism considering that's how you learn. Besides I didn't say it was a shitty project, I said the frame rate sucks.

  • tell you what, YOU make a video in the same time frame these guys had to, and if it's better, your point is valid, if not, then keep your quality criticisms about it to yourself, this was a high school project, and a damn good one at that

  • Thats awesome next time make is faster tho :D
