Stovetop fire destroys kitchen in Milton

An unattended pan of oil cooking on a stove burst into flames and caused extensive damage to the kitchen of an antique Colonial house on Canton Avenue in Milton. Fire Chief Malcolm Larson said Sandra and Jennifer Londrigan of 1661 Canton Ave. were cooking and then went outside to work in the yard. They forgot there was a pan on the stove. The women said they were horrified when they saw the flames and called the fire department at about 2:30 p.m.
