@jvilo80 I don't know but it's not exactly a lost art. Minus the pickles & ketchup certain Burger Kings make their American Way Chicken Sandwich the same way with the mayo, cheese, tomato and lettuce separate from the chicken so that the cheese doesn't melt. I have to say it's pretty tasty that way.
