Azumanga Daioh- Funny Osaka Moment

This is one of my favorite Osaka moments. Seeing that lady's expression on her face when Osaka tells the lady that the stuffed animal thing is Hanshin is priceless! xD

I have a friend who is a true Japanese miko and she told me that buying a "hanshin" at a school plush toy shop is like going to a school fair and winning a shrunken head or a voodoo doll. xD

i live in Osaka.

a lot of Hanshin things there.

in center of Osaka, there's two of big shopping moles called "Hanshin" and "Hankyu".

and also,baseball-team"Hanshin-Tig­ers", local train "Hanshin-Train" is famous.

It's funny because she made a plush novelty of a tower and a region of Japan (I'm 100% that's what she's referring to). Generally stuffed toys are bears, cats, cute things etc. like what Sakaki made. We are shown Osaka's Tsutenkaku which is a pink oval, so we can only imagine what the hell her impression of Hanshin is. The lady was wierded out because it's bizarre. That's why it's funny.

Isn't it common sense that what Osaka said has nothing to do with tigers, baseball, teams or a region? Why would the lady act freaked out, if she was just talking about a region? That's just a question I ask myself when I read all of your comments about baseball, tigers, and regions.. Wtf?
