Here is a demo of the Z Vex Imp Amp, a stereo tube amp, through my vintage Altec Lansing A7 speakers.

  • I. DON'T. UNDER. STAND. How can a "1 watt" amp power speakers that are normally paired with a "500 watt" amp? Do the numbers mean nothing? I am thinking about buying an ImpAmp for my apartment, and I'm trying to get an idea of what speakers would be an appropriate match. Those A7's sound like they are probably awesome, but they are HUGE.

  • @quilope The EFFICIENCY of the speaker is what makes them loud, not the size. The A7 is both loud and efficient. Any efficient stereo speakers should work fine, maybe Z Vex can make a recommendation. Good luck!

  • Looks like you're having a blast there in that room! Great tunes, awesome speakers and amp! :D

  • Cool! I bought a 1957 Silvertone SE 6BQ5A stereo amp off of an auction site for $30. It runs my 107db per watt horns very well indeed!
