  • I'm an athiest. The religion that is evoked in The Hold Steady songs is just brilliant

The lyrical imagery on each of their albums [especially Separation Sunday] is amazing

  • @natefrogtheatheist and isn't that what Christianity is all about anyways? the whole acceptance of other points of views and shit that Jesus was preaching on about. it's just that most Christians are raised a certain way and come off as assholes but don't see it, which sucks dick for them i suppose. Still, Christianity is only a myth for interpreting the good and bad thoughts that come and go in one's head, but whatever helps you remember that everything is gonna be alright is fine by me.

  • i've only ever been mildly interested in the hold steady and i couldn't quite figure out their appeal, but it feels like i'm finally listening and understanding their appeal now. Craig Finn is fucking interesting to listen to.

  • very true

  • i was for sure he was an atheist. goes to show how the hold steady's music speaks to a wide range of people. it's all abuot how you interpret the song.
