These bands are for the most, Post-Hardcore, The Number 12 Looks Like You is Mathcore, Killswitch is metalcore, not one band here is screamo, i ask than anyone here who calls it screamo please read up cuz screamo is defined as emo with screaming, and is fairly uncommon these days, most music with screaming nowadays doesnt fall under the title of screamo

I like this guy's broad definition of a genre. Too much time is spent on labelling and pigeon-holing particular bands- both by fans and capitalist record producers & labels for the purpose of selling to those fans.

lets get real, i only listen to hardcore post-hardcore and any other crazy shit you can think of, but nothing kicks the shit out of the "i'm on a boat" original. And on another note, i miss old ADTR. Fuck this new shit they have.

@ProfessorHeadshot I agree with you, and I to think it is unfortunate. I usually just refer to true screamo bands as skramz, cuz when i say screamo people think im talking about shitty hot topic bands.

@927Cole Thank you for proving my point. Only stupid people think that any band that screams is "screamo". First off, the genre is defined by the music not necessarily the vocals. By your logic, any band that sings should be called "singo" or something stupid like that. Attack Attack uses screaming vocals but they sound nothing like The Number 12 Looks Like You, who also use screaming vocals, why would put those 2 in the same category when the only thing they have in common is screaming. U dumb

@JewfroAwesome92 I've never considered "screamo" to be a genre unto itself, personally. Quite simply, it's a style of vocals. There are screaming vocals popping up in dozens of different genres these days. But to the mainstream, uneducated public, describing music as "screamo" is unfortunately the only way to get the message across.
