A look into the SADF and RECCES (Special Forces). RECCES are seperate from the SANDF as they report directly to a higher chain of command.

A time when South Africa had it's hands tied and had to create their own defense/Offensive.

Hardware and the Men that helped end the Cold War for the World. Although the government messed up men and women's lives, a purpose was completed in the end. The halt of Communism in Southern Africa or at least South Africa.

Feel free to comment, as always be nice or be deleted! I have no time for the overly nasty.

If you have a suggestion or correction no problem at all, post it for us :)

The Video is dedicated to Terry the lion.

PLEASE NOTE: The comment on ending the Cold War is not stating that the RSA ended it by means of winning (although we did put Cuba in a corner) but instead drew closure on the final COLD WAR conflict. The same can be said for Cuba, remember they also signed off to end the last conflict. There were other nations who together brought about the end just remember that.

As for the "Pre-1994" statement all that is doing is giving you an idea of which era most of the video is about, it's by no means a specific point in time.

Thanks Guys.

  • Come on! Discussing which SF team is the best is futile. It´s a matter of attitude. If you sent a RECCES to join a Swedish artic ranger team, I´m sure he would freeze his nuts off.

  • @swertinge07 No man, we would call in support for a polar bear drop, open him up and climb in. We tough, tough I tell you ;)

  • Great posting! Interesting pointer though...the image at 3:04 is actually a pic of some Japanese reenactors. You can find the other pics on the net taken of the same group. Note how they are incorrectly wearing helmets on patrol....note the last chap has a sling - only those who carried the FN Mag did this. Also note the officer is wearing a beret while on patrol! Besides being Japanese, all members of this reenacting group are wearing white t-shirts - we know we didn't on the Grens!

  • @ThePainterr Funny you should mention that, the kit in this photo always looked off to me and until you pointed it out, I never noticed the beret third from front. Also the rifle on the first (close to us) seems odd to me for some reason. Nice to see others re-enacting events, it shows we made a mark on history.

  • @zerocker45 Gee Whiz, you seem very edumacated... but thousands of 'olifantas'?!!! and I must get my facts right? Thank you for your comment 'any ways'.
