Ken Griffey Jr.'s Winning Run was a baseball game released late in the SNES's life. Rare developed it, so it had the same amazing graphics for the time that Donkey Kong Country games had. It also had some pretty cool menu music.

Griffey is the only player whose name appears in the game because there wasn't a license acquired for the rest. As a result, the rest of the players get made up names. (i.e., Cecil Fielder is Chief Caboose, Barry Bonds is Muscles McFee, etc.).

There's only one difficulty level, so it's tough to get into the game at first, and even later on it's not easy to cheese the computer. I used to play this game all the time when I was younger, but I was a bit rusty in the first few innings. I start to get the hang of things in the later innings.

I'm playing as the Detroit Tigers against the San Francisco Giants.

  • Is there a video anywhere on YT with the hidden teams? I never had the patience to unlock them.

  • it was funny when i would just hear the vendor say...............Peanuts LOL....... it was a great game

  • lol 4:43 best homerun beat ever :D

  • This game was sort of a joke. It was entirely too easy (and there are NO difficulty settings to fix this). In the one full season I played as a kid, I went 156-6.

  • this was the best baseball game for NES or SNES

  • what game i loved this game, i still have the game with me with the card that came with game a Ken griffey Jr's collection card.

  • 3D!!!

  • 2:48 LOL 48 MPH

But seriously, when I was playing this game with my friend, I hit a ball and it rolled out to the CF fence. he ran too far, hit the fence and fell to the ground. I got an inside the park HR. :)

  • I prefer traditional Ken Griffeys
