You'll notice that whether you're visiting India, China, North America, or any other country in the world for that matter, what they all share in common is that they each have their own unique eating customs.
So for us here in North America to say that there exists only one way to eat healthily would be entirely inaccurate. The way we eat here in North America doesn't necessitate how someone on the other side of the world should eat in order to be classified as "healthy".
If you compare the diets of Kenyans with that of North Americans, many would conclude theirs to be sub-standard. Yet, how are they able to consistently produce elite level athletes eating on a "sub-standard" diet?
It's quite simple; the "perfect" diet just does not exist. Forget about what the media tries to ingrain into our minds about diet. They are just promoting their own ideas, i.e., what types of foods we should be eating and when we should be eating them, to further their own interests. Instead, we have to understand that the bodies of these elite level athletes look the way they do because of the way they train.
Not everyone, however, is able to see past the media's slanted views and unfortunately now more than ever, people are developing eating disorders, including obsessive compulsive eating.
OCE is a dangerous disorder, whereby one sets strict rules for eating. This subsequently prevents individuals from entering the perfect mindset for achieving a balance between ignorance and obsession when it comes to eating.
Therefore, it is essential we understand the motivation behind the media's messages. When you can separate fact from fiction, you will then begin to obsess over food and nutrition less and less and achieve the ideal mindset for fat loss and holistic health.
