Hey anyone can suggest what I should upgrade to get better performance out of my 3sge besides getting a 3sgte?
-
@Xceldyne knew wrong cams, do you understand the theory of lift-valve diametre.. bet your gone way over board im sure of it
-
I'd say from 260 to 280 hp with stock cams

if i bought a 1997 beams red top and rebuilt all the internanals (pistons, rods, valves, cams, ect) put ITB's on it and high flow header, high compression (about 12:5:1) and maybe stroked it and bored it out to 2.2 with NO TURBO how much HP do you think i would have???

the rain is happy too...

Yeah that was the major diff between the two, FE was for economy and GE for performance.
Ive read around and many think its a "no point mod", many recommend a 3S-GTE conversion 8(
I just want my 3S-FE to perform better, with minimal cost. ie CAI, exhaust etc.
Except i dont think its possible to fit a POD filter on a Gen 1 3S-GE/FE due to throttle sensor rubbish.
where did you get those valve's from? I need some for my gen 3 3sge.

Now thats a beautiful sight !!!
What a great motor.
I have a 3S-FE, do u think i could put a 3S-GE head to head same performance. Because last time i checked that was the only diff between the motors.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions. I wanted to ask though, I've never seen any superchargers made for the 3sge, and also, I've gotten a lot of shops telling me I couldn't really boost it...I was confused, because I know there is almost no difference in block design (other then oil galleys) and internals (which I would be swapping anyways), but still, they convinced me that I should stay NA until i could afford a jdm 3sgte platform to start with for FI. Where have you found cams for 3sge? jdm? thx

You can really make anything fit if you have the money or the capability to do the mods. Fortunately for me i build race engines and have the machinery and the access to good parts at a good price. All the parts in my head cost me $0
and all the machining (which was weeks of work)cost me $0 for someone who doesn't have
that opportunity the price would be overwhelming. Like everything money talks
im afraid. I have custom cams made to specs that i chose.
