August 23, 2011 -- Direct from smashingly-successful engagements in New York, London, Seattle and San Francisco, Joseph Gordon-Levitt brings hitRECord back home to Los Angeles at the historic Orpheum Theatre for a tour culminating gala-event — an evening of vivacious live performance, sensational cinema and collaborative recording!
Part rock-show, part movie premier, part film shoot, Joseph Gordon-Levitt invites artists and audiences alike to dress-to-the-nines and take part in a unique piece of interactive entertainment they're guaranteed to never forget! The Fall Formal will run the creative gamut and include music, film and live performances for all taste buds. And, you never know who might be likely to show up and perform at this formal festival of talent!
Founded and directed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt (known for his starring roles in films such as 500 Days of Summer, Inception and the upcoming film 50/50), hitRECord is an open collaborative production company where members can contribute their work in various forms including music, videos, text and drawings. 'RECorders' are then encouraged to add, edit, remix and collaborate with each other. At hitRECord live-events, Gordon-Levitt presents these collaborative works, while simultaneously using the live setting to interact, collaborate and create new works with the audience.
"Getting the opportunity to present the art we make together at hitRECord.org is almost as gratifying as actually making the work itself," said Joseph Gordon-Levitt. "But the 'Fall Formal' will be a hitRECord event like no other. We're not dressing up just because it's fun, although it is. For me, whenever I put on a suit and tie, it adds a certain gravitas to an evening. And we've got a lot to celebrate. Our first major release, RECollection is coming out, our Tiny Stories got a three-book deal with a major publishing company, we've sold out prestigious venues all over the world. It's been a big year, and this is our big night."
Upon attending a hitRECord event at Sundance, Rolling Stone reported: "Joseph Gordon-Levitt and the folks at hitRECord set the place on fire." And, after hitRECord's SxSW performance, the Austin Chronicle endearingly noted: "the hitRECord show felt like a group of old friends making new friends by letting them in on a supercool Frankensteinian experiment in artistic cross-pollination."
HitRECord currently has over 50,000 active members worldwide. Over 1,000 creative contributions are added daily and 100 new artists regularly join hitRECord each day. As with all of hitRECord's money-making productions, profits from the 'Fall Formal' will be split 50-50 between the hitRECord production company and the hundreds of contributing artists whose work is screened or performed.
only joe could make brushing his teeth and ironing a shirt really, really attractive.

Okay, that is the ONLY time I will ever find a man brushing his teeth and drooling toothpaste everywhere attractive.
