The New Immigrant Development Center (NIDC) is a not for profit and Non Governmental Organization (NGO) working for the integration of the new immigrants in the Canadian main stream by providing them social, emotional and cultural support.

Mr. Ted Opitz, special adviser to the Minister of citizenship, multiculturalism and immigration, TD bank and Royal bank's Local representatives, Community leaders such as Mr. Bhupinder Sidhu, Mr. Sohi, Mr. Khangura ,Mr. Parminder Mangat, Mr. Shambhu Dutt Sharma as well as numerous more individuals and institutions supported and sponsored the event .

NIDC is also initiating a unique APNE community center for senior and youth groups to mingle and to provide each other with the much needed social networking facilities to integrate while keeping their cultural values in their new country of choice, Canada. APNE will bring together the life long experience of the migrant seniors and the quick integration capability of youth of the same cultural groups to help both to better integrate in the society.

"The most untapped resource in Canada is the immigrant senior population. They tend to be very smart and resourceful, who in most cases had facilitated their current sponsor's settlement into Canada from their home country, but are usually not utilized fully. They have been successful engineers, bankers, doctors, entrepreneurs, farmers and homemakers and bring decades of experience with them which is severely underutilized upon their arrival in Canada.By putting them together with the youth of the country not only helps the seniors integrate better but also helps the youth understand life better from their experiences", said Mr. Roger Nair, the Executive Director of NIDC." Its a win win situation for all and we are hopeful that with the support of the General public,Government and the corporate sector this Community center will become a reality" , added filmmaker and social and Human rights activist Roger Nair.
