This is part of an exercise designed by Dr. Donald S. Reinhardt called "The Track Routine" where the student plays tongued first and then slurs on the same setting. Reinhardt's version is written up to a G (four leger lines) and Chris extended it to the double C. This drill requires you to play tongued, slurred, high and low (not to mention loud and soft) all on one embouchure setting.
Chris is a devoted Reinhardt student, having studied with Reinhardt from 1979 until shortly before Reinhardt's death in 1989, and continues be a dedicated student of the teachings of Reinhardt. Chris lives in Florida and is a full-time musician.
Jesus, what a beast! Is he related to John or Pat LaBarbara? I had the good fortune of studying with John in grad school and he blows a mean trumpet too!

I like how his eyebrows move up and down with the notes

Escucha mas música my friend.

@jazzera10 Warm-ups and exercises are two totally different things. You warm up to do this stuff on your days off for most of the time. This will help you learn to play properly AFTER warmed up.
