The real deal.
Disclaimer: I have noticed that the posting of various anthems (no matter which country) inevitably leads to a lot of childish arguing. Personally, I am (and like many others) an American; my ancestors came to America from England and fought in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Civil War, and many others. Although I'm a patriotic American, I do believe that there's a lot of bullshit that our government does. Likewise, our culture has deteriorated into it's present state and will continue to deteriorate because no one is willing to do anything about it. With that said, I obviously do not mind INTELLIGENT discussions, but please keep the idiocy to a minimum. Keep in mind that this is the Internet, and as such, it doesn't matter if someone doesn't agree with you at the end of the day; they're just another nameless face on the World Wide Web.
Thank you, and enjoy this fine anthem that was written by Samuel Francis Smith and based upon the melody of God Save the Queen.

@boredincornwall82 No, I can understand that. Though, God Save the Queen does have a beautiful melody, Mr. Samuel Smith should have left the song alone. I do hope you blame him instead of your wife for this nationalistic song. D;

@JoeA320Pilot It was the de facto national anthem for a while until they adopted the Star-Spangled Banner

@ebonyzerscrouge Honestly? A little disgruntled that my American wife can't hear my National Anthem without thinking of her country. I'm not childish enough to get into an Internet Argument here, but it still bugs me...

@kabur88 I do. And I wonder how the English feel about us jacking their song. cx
