@tedwilsonjr Why wouldn't it have been considered legitimate before a performance by the Met and Houston Operas...as far I know it was always considered a legitimate opera, particularly b/c it was performed by an ensemble of CLASSICALLY trained African-American musicians.

@gundamshogen2310 well... it's indeed from porgy and bess, but it's a really different rendition comparing to classic performances by Ella Fitzgerald for instance
