Volunteer Thailand - Mud Brick Building - April 2009

Volunteer in Thailand - Dragonfly Community Foundation, Thailand, built a 2 room building constructed out of mud, bamboo and a lot of sweat at Baan Saan Rak Orphanage in Chiang Rai, northern Thailand in April 2009.

When I made mud bricks in Australia, we used straw in the mud mix. of course the clay was of different type too. I hope the bricks used here are of optimum clay-sand mix. One way or the other can lead to structural weakness.

But this is an encouraging video to see. I will be building a mud brick studio and home in Thailand in the not too distant future.
