Loosing ur home in foul swoop is tough to say the least!
We had a reporter loose his house in the 1983 Ash Wed Fires [Victoria - Australia], reporting it as it went up in flames & it has stuck with me all this timethough him having lost all composure at the time may have had something to do with it?

How this guy retains his composure in the face of this is absolutely beyond me. Now there's a strong reporter. As someone who's been in the business, I can say that reporting on that stuff is hard enough even when you have nothing to do with it. I cannot imagine, not even remotely, what fortitude this individual possessed to remain so composed even on camera. Hero or not, he has my admiration.

that week was hell i was at school in Rancho Bernardo and our principal gave a long speech about the fires and how the police said we all have to evacuate we were one of the worst hit cities and its comin up on a year it was october 22, 2007 when it started and it's the same situattion again the santa an winds are comin and are strong and its in the high 80's we have to avoid this

This is so sad. Larry is one of my dad's best friends--he was even my dad's best man at his wedding--and for this to happen to such an amazing person is just heartbreaking. I remember spending a lot of time in that house when I was really little.
These fires were devastating, and it's a shame that they hurt so many people. My heart goes out to Larry and his family, and everyone else who was affected.

I feel so bad.. I hope he rebuilt his house or has something that his family really loves!! Nature sucks sometimes!
